System Software Analyst

Worked on multiple projects - proposed, planned, deisgned, managed, controlled and delivered to support and upgrade mainframe and PC systems for the company.

These included selection, implementation and deployment of the first online transation process systems to H/O and branches for core business, as well as new rate book calculation and quoattaion systems, the selection and deployment of desktop system throughout the company, and regular maintenance and upgrade of all system software.

Actuarial Technical Assistant

Built actuarial programs and computer models for policy performance and premium basis generation provided individual actuarial quotations for special cases (unusual policies or high value policies).  

Assisted IT Dept with actuarial functions and algorithms.  

Senior Programmer

Design and Implement Group Medical Aid System.  Responsible for coding, testing and operational support of significant portions of system, working with stakeholders to test and improve design, reports, and convert data from manual systems.  Implemented completely new file management technology with this system.

Section Head/Actuarial Assistant

Managed section to produce actuarial evaluations and quotations for group pensions business.

Responsible for ensuing accuracy of membership data and evaluation basis, and producing analysis of fund performance and reports for clients.

Field Researcher Savannah Ecosystem Project

Tasked with Pilot Study of Biomass Carrying Capacity of Small Mammals in the study area under supervision of Univ of Pretoria.

Responsible for planning, procurement and delivery of all reserach work in a remote location on a game reserve (closed to public).

Project Scope and Time Management

 Utilising Project Life-Cycle Project (PLP) and the integrated Capital Projects Assurance Framework (ICPAF) to:

- Collect requirements

- Identify business needs and reqwuirements

- Determining durations

- Determining Resources

- Creating Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS)

- Acquire scope freeze date approval

- Sequencing and linking activities

- Creating project schedule

- Performing Critical Path Analysis, including resource loading and smooting.
