Primavera Risk Analysis - Getting the absolute minimum and maximum

A
Alireza R 👤 Member for 6 years 3 months

Hi all,

I have a very detailed risk analysis for my project (different risks, different uncertainties with different distributions,...). And now I would like to see the "absolute" minimum and maximum end dates.

Ofcourse since Monte Carlo Analysis is based on random iterations, I can never say with certainty what the shortest project duration is (think extremely happy flow, all uncertainties getting the minimum durations). I get the minimum from OPRA but next time I run the simulation I might get a new minimum (or maximum).

Import problem Primavera Risk Analysis mpp file

When I import an MS project file, the duration of the activities are divided by 3.

For example an actitivity has in MS Project a duration of 20 days and after import in PRA only 7 days.

I tried to change the import parameters and match the number of hours per day, but nothing changed.

Anyone familiar with this problem?

Delay analysis and Right of Way

Hi everybody,

I got involved in delay analysis on motorway project, the Contract is under FIDIC Harmonised (MDB).  We as Contractor received the contractual drawings on time, but from our side the submission was delayed 2 months beyond planned date in the Baseline programme.

My question is could the lack of right of way cause delay on the preparation and submission of road working drawings?

And what is the crusial information should have to prepare working drawings?

Any help appreciated..

Filters in Primavera Risk Analysis

Is there a way to filter the activities in Primavera Risk Analysis similar to how you would in P6?

I'm trying to filter activities with no predecessor/successor from a dodgy schedule ready for analysis I received but there doesn't seem to be a suitable field in the drop down filter list and this should be the simplest filter to switch on?!?

Sub-Portfolio/Programme Contingency Reserve = Project Management Reserve?

M
Maxim Dr 👤 Member for 8 years 10 months

Hello all,

We with colleagues are currently trying to sort out whether the Reserve held at the Programme or Sub-portfolio level can be deemed the management reserve of the project?

We are a big organisation and there is a very large portfolio of multi-million projects. Some projects get closed and there is a budget left which is transferred to the Programme or Sub-portfolio Reserve.

Primavera Risk Analysis, Build impacted plans

Hello Planners,

I am trying to build risk impacted plans (both pre- and post-mitigation); everything works fine, except that I cannot have the risk summary tasks to include the risk impact tasks together with the base task

for example: the base task is 10 day long and the risk impact task is 2 day long; in the post-mitigation plan, the risk summary task is only 10 day long and the risk impact task is scheduled after the end of the summary task

@ Risk assistance

Forum Members

Hopefully someone can point me in the correct direction here.

I have 7 data points (actuals from a mini-project i'm currently doing - 2800, 4300, 8300, 11000, 13600, 14900, 17400) and would like to trend these out to week 26 to give me a forecast at completion $ range so i can determine the P50, P75, P85, P95. Last time i provided input to @Risk was back in the 90s...now I have been tasked to develop the 'simple' task set out above in @Risk and having looked at a few tutorials I'm not seeing a model that appears to fit what i'm looking for...
