How do I become a planner or planning engineer

T
Thang Van 👤 Member for 10 years 10 months

Hi planning professional,

I'm 33 and have been working in oil and gas industry, most of the time with operator, in the last 10 years as a project engineer, have participated in a number of major capital projects. I have good understanding of project planning, a proficient user of Project/Primavera P6. I'm looking for a way to redirect my career to be a planning engineer or planner. How do I get  a foot in the door, as all companies are looking for planner or planning engineer with experiences.

Thanks

What job title would best reflect my current position? | How to better position myself on Linkedin?

D
Daniel But 👤 Member for 7 years 5 months

What job title would best reflect my current position?

What info to select for my Linkedin profile to a better position/advertise myself & match it with what employers & recruiters look for?

My role is multifold and I share some responsibilities of Business Analyst, Program Manager, Project Manager, Administrator & Support, Performance Manager

I find it hard to summarise all of my responsibilities in a clear & concise way on Linkedin, with best possible keywords.

Planning Swith to freelance work.

M
Mike Testro 👤 Member for 20 years 5 months

This is for all UK based planners who are thinkng about going freelance but do not want to jump off the cliff of paid employment - just yet.

There is a way that will let you dip your toe in the freelance pond to see if it suits you - working for Contractor Planning Temptask in your spare time.

Or just earning a bit extra on top of the paid job.

Or if you are already a freelance planner then get more work.

Just go to

and register for work.

Looking for Information regarding planning jobs/career in Singapore

Hello Members...

I am a Primavera/MS Project planner based in Australia with about 12 years of construction and IT planning experience. Due to certain family issues, I am looking at moving base to Singapore where I will be considered as a local for job purposes as I am married to a Singaporean citizen.

Is there anybody here from Singapore or who has worked in Singapore before who can help me understand the market in Singapore.

I would specifically like to ask a few basic questions like

- Which job site/sites do Singaporeans look at predominantly for jobs ?

You will be able to work from home at evenings and weekends or if you are a full time freelance planner it will increase your current workload.
