CPM and PDM methods

Hello to everyone, i'm running a dissertation about project management and i would like to ask about those two methos.

I want to know if we run the same project with CPM and then with MPM do i expect always the same resuls? Are there any articles about that?

And who do you think is the best option between those two?

Thank you!

Revised Baseline and Revised S-Curve

K
Kannan CP 👤 Member for 18 years

Dear All,

Kindly share your input/thoughts for the following situation.

After the baseline programme is approved. At the middle of the project a variation was issued by the Client and the Contractor issued an EOT notification for the delay in permit for some other works.

I will do the evaluation of EOT as follows;

1. Use the updated programmes just before the variation order and the permit issue respectively and check the revised completion date. In the mean time check the concurrents delays from the Contractor.

FEED - Front End Design

Hello Everyone,

I have been on the EPC projects from Contractors side till now for O & G company. I would like to learn when a engineering company is awarded FEED Study (Basis of Design & Statement of requirement is given by the Client) who from the engineering company will prepare the list of document to be prepared for the FEED Study, as the Planning Engineer would require the details to prepare a schedule.

Regards

Jithin

Progress percentage and scope of work

S
Sunil Babu 👤 Member for 15 years 7 months

Dear All,

The case scenario of the Project is like this :

After completion of gradeslab client removed the scope of the building and given to another contractor.

My question is Option A: Upto that instance can we put the remaining works of that building as 100% complete, or option B we have to revise the Baseline by removing the remaining activities of that Building and re-shedule which option will give better result on account of project progress.

Expert remarks will be highly appreciable.

With Best Regards,

Sunil.

New specs restrict the use of SS & FF lags

S
Steve Eiden 👤 Member for 21 years 9 months

To all:

Have increasingly run into the restriction of using no SS or FF lags and of having to remove redundant logic. In ACOE specs and now on a non-military project in Hawaii. Do not think they have the legal right to request this as these items are all part of generally accepted scheduling practices. Does anyone know if this kind of restriction has any academic source or standard to back up its use in a scheduling specification
