P6 carat symbol

hi all,

most threads that i have read on price/unit having a carat symbols seem to suggest that this happens only when you do not have a price/unit. On the programme i am working on however, the price/unit has been allocated and still all but one resource shows the correct remaining costs.  I have tried adding the rates again and recalculating assignment costs, this does not seem to work.

Is there any other way to get the programme to re-calculate without having to re-do the resources

Remaining Units on Manual Resource Curve

H
Helen Ward 👤 Member for 10 years 1 month

Activity 4 weeks in duration, duration % complete, 100 Planned Units added as resource manual curve over the 4 weeks as 50 20 20 10. Activity started on Baseline Start date, Exoected Finish applied as per Baseline Finish. Data date moved on a week. Past period performance stored. 25% progress seen on activity. First week of Actual Period Units has 50 hours stored as expected. Remaining Units though now read 28 13 8. Why don't they read 20 20 10 as per the Planned Units please? Can't find any help anywhere that's tells me how these Remaining Units have been calculated. Any help appreciated.

New to planning - advice for my first few weeks :-)

After doing somewhat of a 'covering role' - At last i have started my Project Planning career!

And I am after some advice for my first few weeks.

Just a couple of items on a list I can tick off, to benefit me - and of course. Should I end up working for any of you in the future :-)

Background. I am a Lvl 3 planner. Reviewing contractors programmes. Reporting upwards

Duration in hours

S
san TS 👤 Member for 14 years 6 months

Hi,

I got a schedule in which the start days and finish dates are having different times. The start time and finish time are different for different activities which is affecting the duration. Is there an easy way to fix this. The calender is 10 hrs/day but the hours setting in P6 is still 8hrs/day.

BR,

San

Is CPM and float analysis over?

Hi All

I had a debate with someone today about the value of CPM and float (as well as constraining the handover dates) and was wondering what my peers thought?

While 4D planning is first prize, my projects are not able to wait until a model is built (very fast track where I live) and while it looks snazzy, is there benefits to it? I understand it helps with claims and clash issues but does that mean CPM and resourcing is obsolete?
