SAP Task List Operations

Hi there,

I've been tasked with reviewing what our requirements are for the creation of new operations within a task list. The below requirements are what we have in our documentation but this has resulted in some tasks having over 100 operations to feed into a Gantt chart. Would really appreciate some improvement suggestions.

An independent operation is any operation which has any of the following differences:

Spreadsheet for time risk allowance due to weather

Hi,

I have some historical data relating to weather for a specific region of the uk and am wanting to create a spreadsheet to calculate time risk allowance  based on it.

So I can get say  pouring concrete TRA each month of the year with the winter months having more time risk or bricklaying, crane down time etc.

Does anyone have an example of something they would use for this?

Regards

Chris

Assessing scheduling claims in PDF formats only

Hi there,

For people who have a very little knowledge of P6 Schedules: How do you argue that in order to assess schedule claims you need more than PDFs of the schedule.

I need a very simple and preferably a visual illustration to demonstrate:

Schedules in PDF format cannot be the true representative of the program and not good enough for claims assessments.

Apologies in advance if this sounds too basic to you.

Thanks

WBS and Activity Names

In a schedule with a structured WBS what is the best practice for the activity names - example

WBS: Site1/Building5/Area3/Machine foundations/

Activity Name: Pour Concrete

OR: Activity Name: Pour Machine foundation concrete at Site1, Building5, Area3

Duplicated info but using layouts without the WBS structure, "Pour Concrete" isnt helpful.

Is there an accepted best practice.

Thanks

Contracts and Project Control Procedures and Processes

Hi,

I have been given a task of standardizing Contracts and Project Controls processes and procedures. We are a service company in oil and gas and management is looking to reestablish these procedures based on well-known standards in major oil companies likes of Shell, Chevron, etc.

Our purpose is to base our procedures based on industry standards and develop customized digital systems, kinda PMIS, tailored to our needs.

Any reference to such Contracts and Project Controls standard procedures/processes/helping materials will make my job much much easier.

Thanks

SAP Business By Design

C
Calvin Raju 👤 Member for 6 years 10 months

Hi all, Im really struggling with SAP ByD.

Firstly, I can't seem to export a Cost Breadown Structure for all 0 (zero planned Costs). SAPBYD will only export non zero Tasks.

Secondly, SAPBYD, does not recognise any expenses as a remaining Planned Costs. It only views Labour (WORK) as a remaining Planned Cost. I need to do Cost spreading or ETC palnning based on Cost for IFRS15 Revenue forecasting, but SAP does not display any expense ETC.

Has anyone got an answer for me on both topics please?

Regards,

Primavera - Relationship between activity

Hello Everyone,

Hope everyone is in good health.

A doubt. I have received comments on a schedule,

  • The use of Finish-start relationship is prefered (FS). Avoid as much possibe use of Finish-Finish (FF) plus lags and start -start (SS) plus lags relationship between activities.
  • FF relationship do not provide visiblity and clarity regarding schedule logics and drivers fr key activity.

Is the above statement right ?
