Should an accepted programme be updated before evaluating an EOT

D
Dean Pearcy 👤 Member for 20 years 2 months

I am currently in discussion with my ECCPM regarding an EOT claim. He has issued an instruction that was a few days before a monthly submission. The previous month programme was already accepted. To establish the EOT claim I used the previous month programme as a baseline to the delay, considering this was the last accepted programme.

The ECCPM is asking for the last accepted programme to be updated as an as-built to the date of the instruction.

This seems to go against the contract, so I'm looking for any advice regarding this subject.

Resource Assignment

Hi All,

Need to report 'resource limit' allocated to activities and show on a spread sheet or report. I set up the resources limits as per below, the 'resource usage spreadsheet' still shows the default 8h/d. There are multiple resources (diffrent set limits) allocated to one activity, all showing 8h/d.

Ive tried changing between calendars (resource project), changed settings to set default to 4h/d. Same result as above on the resource and activity spreadsheets.

What happens when the Contract uses a hard NTP & Completion Date but the NTP is not issued on that date?

What happens when the Contract uses a hard NTP & Completion Date but the NTP is not issued on that date?

Does the completion date legally have to slide?

Connecting P6 with Submittal Log and Schedule of Values - any good ways or spreadsheet systems?

Connecting P6 with Submittal Log and Schedule of Values - any good ways or spreadsheet systems? - These items are intertwined - one of the worst things you can do is make the schedule into either a submittal log (or a to do list).  But how to you efficiently feed the info between them - surely P6 has addressed this.  I think years ago they did with their Old CM tools (ie Expedition - yes I am old.) but by getting fancier I think that easy link was lost.  I only see them excel now days.

Why? Or should we/they change logic that completed out of order?

When a successor is complete 100% the program just skps to the next successor in the chain, so why should the logic be changed to the way it really happened?  Or should we just leave it to keep from complicating the schedule and comparisons?  I used to be able show how it created a false gap in time in chains when leaving in old logic with "retained" logic but I am not seeing that now.  I know it can "sometimes", do you recall when it does - i assume those should be fixed.

Work amount , quantity and resource

A
Ahmet Tuter 👤 Member for 13 years 3 months

I want to confirm something.

Lets say we have 1000 lf of conduit to install. One labor installs 200 lf conduits a day. Lets call him worker 1. So it will take him 5 days to complete.

Now if we had only him as labor, the duration of this task is 1000/200 =5 days.

And the work amount is:

Work = duration x units,

so,

5 days x 8 hours x 1 labor = 40 labor-hours (manhours)

Now this comes to man-hours. Why do I see work amount as hours in many places? This is my first question.

Seasonal or winter assumption variance in regards to delays question

If I contractor is really delayed 10 days in say June, on a two year project, but then is able to work 10 more days in that following December than the assumption in the schedule, should they still get those 10 days of delay?  If not, why would anyone ever award delay days before the start of construciton the following Spring?  I have been on jobs where they want to "wait and see" but also isn't that Constructive Accelleration or just not fair tha the contractors doesn't know if they have the additional time?
