Manhours Calculation for Resource Loading

Dear All

I need  some explanation on manhours calculation for resource loading for p6 and MSp

As for my understanding, in p6 the manohurs is called - Budgeted Labor Unit

And for MSp it is called work hour

Quest 1 - Is my understading correct for the above?

Before we come out with the manhours for each activity in the schedule. we must have the productivity for each activity.

Production rate = Qty / unit time

Productivity = manhours / production rate

Estimated manhours = productivity * material qty

the SOV is usually loosely tied to the Schedule, how do you handle Unit Price items to a lump sum SOV project?

the SOV is usually loosely tied to the Schedule, how do you handle Unit Price items to a lump sum SOV project?  Just add an item and update it each month?  Or base it on an estimated end of project project total?  Are there any special considerations regarding the schedule associated with these items?  Would these require a change order, unless listed a contract contingency?

Level 4 to Level 3 Schedule - Primavera

Hi All,

Need some information.

We have been awarded a Project and the Project Manager wanted to show a Level 3 schedule to the Client but internally he wants a Level 4 schedule.

So should I have to make 2 schedule ie Level 3 and Level 4 or can I srink a Level 4 schedule to Level 3.

There would be many Engineering deliverable/Activity in Level 4 Schedule which we dont want to show to Client.

Please advice

Warm Regards

Jithin

Estimate to Complete

H
Hoda Zadeh 👤 Member for 14 years 11 months

Hi Plannners,

Just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions / modified method for ETC calculations ???. The PF using CPI or SPI in this  calculation only looks at the past and not necessarily realstic in a dinamic project enviroment .Therefore through experience, its usually far away from what truly will happen in the projects later on.

Any thoughts , ideas , formulas you use which considers say risks? I am trying to find a more accurate number rather than just a traditional EVM method.

Is there a rule to measure ratio : Qty of Task / Qty of links

Hi everybody,

Do you know if there is a specific rule / code / good practice to measure folowing ratio : Qty of Task / Qty of links ?

I know that DCMA proposes to check 14 points throught schedule, and the closer one to check the logic.

But this doesn't match my criteria

If anyone knows a norm, a standard or even recommendation in certification (PMI,...), it would help me

Regards
