Please comment on my approach for overtime planning in MS Project

E
Evgeny Z. 👤 Member for 18 years 5 months

Dear all,

I would like you to comment on my approach for overtime planning.

Say I plan a project, and I know that to do certain activity I would need 2 engineers for 2 weeks.

The type of business we are in, is that we work in weeks blocks, and I know in advance how long we will be working and how many people will be assigned to do a job. (e.g. to make a baby I would assign 1 woman for 9 months)

Best way to plan travel costs in MS Project

E
Evgeny Z. 👤 Member for 18 years 5 months

Dear all,

I would like everybody to comment on my approach for planning travel costs of the project. May be you can suggest something better.

If say I have a project, which would last for a year (a critical path). I know that this project would occupy Project Manager (PM) for pretty much 100%. I also know, that this project manager would travel to the customer in average every 4rth week (so, in average 25% of his working time). I also know his travel expenses for a week (say 2000 USD). I also assume, that PM would book 40h on a project per week.

My hard drive crashed & I am having a hard time setting up my database again. It was backed up & successfully restored, however, when I open P6 I have to set up the database. I then try logging in with -

Host Name - PCNAME\PRIMAVERA

Database name - pmdb$primavera

Username - pubuser

Password - pubuser

I have also tried with username & password 'pivuser' without success.
