MAC based planning software

Not sure if this is the correct forum but here goes.

Thinking of buying a MAC and know that it can run Windows etc. Also that there is a MSP equivalent programme.

However, I really need to run Primavera PM v8.2 and later. Has anyone any experience of running Primavera on a MAC (specifically PowerBook Pro - the new one) be it in Parallels or whatever. (Not actually got the MAC hence the uncertainty)

Cheers

Nige

How to propotionate Man power / trade

S
Saju TS 👤 Member for 17 years

How to proportionate  manpower per trade?

For example for an RCC work, I have duration, RCC productivity of compnay per day ( manday) and total quanity of RCC

First i divdied the Total quanityof RCC by duration  for getting RCC work per day. then i divied this by company productivity/ mandays. I got total number of man days / day. Now how to proportionate  this man days as steel fixer, carpenter, helper, mason  from the total man hours per day

Allocating Project General Resources

Hi All,

Please I need to allocate a supervisory resource (in Primavera P6), say a Project Supervisor that only has 8hours/day to more than one activities that he has to supervise in a typical day.

This "Project Supervisor" resource could also be flexible with the amount of time (out of his daily 8 hours) he has to use on various activities scheduled for the same day.

I don't wanna overallocate this guy!

I am always counting on your knowledge and willingness to share it.

With Regards,

Abdulhafiz

Integrated Baseline Management - Including 'design change' from the current schedule in the PMB

I have used the 'Maintain Baselines' process to include activities related to approved change from the current schedule in the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).

Incorporating approved change into the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) using P6v7

I have used the 'maintain Baselines' function to update a copy of the project contract baseline in order to demonstrate slippage in the current schedule when introducing an approved change.

this has not resulted in the transfer of the 'coded up & filtered' activities being copied into the PMB from the current schedule as i had expected. therefore i can't show the slippage using this process.

can anyone suggest an alternative method ??

i have now unlinked the copied PMB from the current schedule and restored it in order to try another process.

thanks

Finish or Start milestone?

A
Ahmed KHR 👤 Member for 15 years 7 months

Dear planners;

Sometimes we have a milestone wich come at the end of one activity/ies and its the start of other activity/ies (like handover milestones).

So how we should conider this kind of milestones, start or finish milestone?

Thank you in advance for your participation.

Ahmed.
