Different setups for Primavera Professional

P6 Professional, not EPPM which is a different can of worms.

.1. on your system - if you have a serial number, can't you just keep paying the "maint. fee" and then keep getting updates for free - isn't this the best way to go?

.2. through citrix or similar - is this the above but through a corp VPM?

.3. set up on a network, at a corporation, can login to it remotely somehow I think.

similar but different:

.1. cloud access - called P6, but does not have all the abilities, ie cannot import layouts etc.  -  might provide a regular P6 access somehow.

Primavera running slow, for example when I delete activities it take 1.5 minutes even on small project

Primavera running slow, for example when I delete activities it take 1.5 minutes even on small project.  It is the only program that is that laggy or slow.  I have used system utility programs in the fast and generally find them pretty dangerous - so I think it would be good if I find out what in particular effects P6 the most.

Comparing vs the Approved Baseline vs From the previous month and remaining logic.

I am on a project where the remaining logic has the project 20 days behind, but 24 days behind the dates for the same item from the Approved baseline from 8 months prior.  Is the project 20 or 24 days behind?  I would say 20, others say 24.  24 would be more correct for a claim situation, but how often do these really end up in court or arbitration - the 20 is more practical.  In this case its not a big difference - but it can be.  In this case I am guessing calendar complications, but it can be caused by many things.

Samples of "good" monthly reports and report formats - any good one's out there?

Yes, I can create some - but the more choice the better.  Contractors delibritely submit per spec but in poor format, basically on purpose - I have been on both sides of this - the samples are basically for the non-schedulers to see the difference.  I know I can find some, but thought asking this group would expedite it.

Is it true you can only collect liquidated damages if there "actually" are financial effects and not just contract language?

s it true you can only collect liquidated damages if there "actually" are financial effects and not just contract language?  -  I thought a contract is a contract, wouldn't matter if you financially needed by that date or not.

"Revise and Resubmit" vs "Approved - conform as noted" - when do you have to use the first over the 2nd.

Due to turn-around times by the time the contractor gets it back - they can just submit the following month that is that much fresher, I prefer when OR's or who ever is reviewing a schedule simply do Approved - as noted, because they can tell you to make the same changes with either designation.  But when reviewing schedules - I do not know if there are legal issues of doing the AAN vs the R&R - thoughts?

How accountable can Contractors be held for scheduling errors? For example...

Project Had 1 day for install after long lead, then 1 day install, then Substantial Completion.  But in fact the install and detail such as testing would take 30 days.  The long lead is taking longer - they want more for "supply chain" disruptions (aren't thos over) - isn't all the delay on the contractor for under-estimating delivery, not getting procured in time, and the bad logic and or not enough duration.  All on contractor to make up or get LD's?
