I am trying to use a normal export and import function of P6. I exported the data into .xlsx format and I am trying to import the data back after minor edits , but its says "Process did not complete successfully. See log file for details" and the log shows as stated below:

An ID that uniquely identifies a task and that is "persistent".
I mean: in my tests I exported twice the same project.

I use P6V8. The schedule I inherited has activties using "physical % complete" as most common way to status progress. So are milestones.
As "activity percent complete based on activity steps" is checked at the project level, whenever I claim finish milestone, physical % complete shows 0% complete instead of 100%. This misleds foreman/engineers reading the schedule report who think planners missed to claim actual.
The predecessor completion date and successor start date are the same. For Example, if predecessor finishes on 04th Feb-18, 04:00 PM the successor start on 04th Feb-18, 04:00 PM instead of 05th Feb-18, 08:00 AM with 0 days lag.

When attempting to import an XER from a new version of P6 to the 8.4 version I have, I get an error stating, "The import file is invalid."
I have already changed the version number in notepad. This trick only works sometimes when I import files from new versions of P6. I would ask the scheduler to send a saved down version of the file but our GCs aren't always accomodating. Are there any other tricks I can try when this occurs?
I'm really struggling to run Primavera P6 Job services!
Primavera P6 17.12, 15.2 and 16.1 64 bit (tried all with no luck)
Database: oracle 11g
JSDB alias is set with pubuser credentials.
When I start the Primavera P6 Job service (JDBC) it stops after 1-2 minutes.
Windows event handler error:
Failed to start Primavera Job Service: PRM DBAccess Error: Connection attempt to database failed with message ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
I'm really stuck!
I've just written about two options on how to recover a Primavera P6 password. I'm not sure my content is welcome here in the forums, so let me know if this is a subject that you're interested in this.

Just thought I'd better check - fairly new to P6 with a basic setup so I've simply enabled Windows' File History to backup the PPMDBSQLite.db to an external HDD on an hourly basis, thinking if there were any irretrievable mistakes, I could then use File History to restore the correct version and open P6 to find it recovered.
If this works I'm happy to keep it like this, but if this isn't likely to work as a backup/recovery solution I'd need to know now.

I'm exporting resource assignments from P6 to Excel, updating budgeted units, actual units, and at completion units, then importing and Excel sheet into P6. Once the import is complete, I noticed that the resource has been updated based on my import, and a second resorce has been added and given budgeted units based on units per time that do not match the updated resource. Can anyone give me some insite on what's happening here please? Thanks in advance.
