Hello everyone.

I have problem with getting a NAN and INF in my Revised Baseline.

Scenario is this:

1. Baseline has actuals and loaded with Resources

Prior to getting the NAN (Total Float) and INF (Original Duration), all resource curve are in dafault but when I change some Resource Curve (i.e. Front Loaded), I get this NAN and INF.

Does anyone know how to solve it? Is changing the resource curve will cause this?

Transfer Progress between 2 Programmes

Hello, 

 

I have 2 programmes 

 

1) Client Programme - Later completion date 

2) Internal Programme - Earlier completion date 

 

99% of ACTIVITY IDs are the same between the 2 programmes. 

Is there a way to copy the progress such as from one programme to another?

P6 LOE activities not honoring their logic

We have an issue where numerous projects (X,Y,Z) require an LOE activity to span the start and finish milestones of their relevant project. These LOE's are then all dragged to a single common project (B) for management use. When Project B is scheduled (to a data date in the past) the LOE activities disregard the logic links to their respective external projects and sit on project B data date. This only happens when projects X,Y & Z are closed and project B is open.

Export and Import - Resource and Duration

Hi Team,

 

I know this post has been discussed over her earlier but just to get Clarity.

  • Can we export from P6 and then reource load it in Excel and then import back to P6 (Labor - Pipe Welder)
  • If it can be done how. Please give us a step by step guide like a bullet point.
  • What are the fields in excel which we can change after exporting

Why do schedulers put cost in a resource called cost instead of using the cost fields?

Why do schedulers put cost in as a resource called cost instead of using the cost fields?  I have seen many schedules over the years and I have seen that quite a bit.  Also, I work in a corporate system where we are supposed to stick to "Project Calendars" but I noticed that resources have to have a calendar and they apear to only use the Global Calendars - is there a work-around, is that correct?

Managing the Printing of Gantt Charts multiple stakeholders content needs and frequencies

I am struggling to find good practice guide for managing print layouts. I am forever adjusting paper size and logo and footers and timescales etc for gantt print outs. I have several projects, each with different PM and clients and other stakeholders and they all need their versions of the gantt report issued at regular intervals. I would like to provide consistent looking reports each month/ week. This is proving to be a huge time resource to provide.

Earned Value / Baseline Issue

Hello all.

I have noticed an issue with earned value labor units changing depending on what baseline is assigned to a project.  It seems to me that P6 is not including earned value labor units for activities which were not created at the point of taking an assigned baseline.

For example, 

Baseline 1 taken on 14th Feb 2020

Activity X added on 20th Feb 2020 (100 hours budgeted labor units and set to 100% complete)

Baseline 2 taken on 21st Feb 2020

Adding/Editing project level layouts in P6 vs Global rights

Hello

Is it possible to have users set up to add/edit project level layouts in P6 without them also being able to add/edit global layouts?

Trying to lock down the global data we currently hold without reams of additional global data being generated, and aim to reassign layouts etc to be owned at project level for specific planners to maintain, but in doing this none now have access to edit these project layouts.

Is there a way to achieve this whilst at the same time locking down global rights to one or two users?
