BPC Logic Filter for Microsoft Project

T
Tom Boyle 👤 Member for 19 years 6 months

We've finally gone live with the download and subscription portals for our MSP add-in.

For the professional project manager, scheduler, administrator, or consultant working with Microsoft Project (2010+), BPC Logic Filter is a tool that fills the gaps between Project’s native functionality and the requirements of logic-driven schedule management in complex projects where Total Slack is insufficient.

Looping backwards through a 'For Each' collection

J
John Borton 👤 Member for 7 years 8 months

Here is the usual VBA code for looping through all tasks in a project:

  For Each t In ActiveProject.Task

      {code for desired action}

  Next t

This loops through from the top down (as far as I can tell).

Anyone have an ideas as to how I can reverse this and go from the bottom up?

Thanks

JB

MS Project Code Libraries

Hi All,

I have a progrmme in Asta that I have assigned a number of activities in my code library to. A colleague prefers to use MS Project because he doesn't have a license for Asta. I have saved this programme as a MS Project file but none of the code librarires have transferred over to MS Project.

Does MS Project have the capabilities to assign tasks code from the code library?

This is extremely useful for assigning contractors to activities and would like to know of there's an alternative workaround.

Thanks!

Project changes tasks start time

Hello!

I'm trying to create project by importing data from xml-file. Almost everything is working fine, I get required resources and tasks? but when I click on task information - ok , all my tasks start dates are changed.

I guess, the question is not pretty clear, so I made a video for better understanding https://youtu.be/ey_3VHj5lck

Duration In Days

Dear All;

I am trying to see "Finish Date" - " Actual Start Date" to calculate "how much days i need if my task is late. for example;

i planned to complete a task in 10 days, i am in 5 th day of my project and i realized that i need 2 days more to finish this task. so i want to calculate "finish date"- "actual start date"

Thanks a lot.

Milestone Warning İndicator

Dear All;

i have a question about milestone that i want to see if its should be done in 2 months could be warned by ms project?

for example: i have a summary task that building reinforced concrete works, and i linked this after a "rebar procurement" milestone. the thing that i want to do is, can i make ms project put a flag or warning before 2 months left to this milestone, so i can warn my manager about "we should supply rebar in 2 months".

Thanks

Duration calculation when using 2 different Calendars in MS Project

Hi,

I'm hoping somone can help me with the following problem I'm having with MS Project. I have a project with Construction Activities (Standard Calendar appropriate) and Shutdown Activities (operating over 24hrs, 7 days a week calendar).

I can create calendars and apply them to the correct activities but the Duration field in MS Project calculates the Durations (in my opinion) incorrectly? I can't seem to get my desired result to display of 1 calendar day.

Progress - Summary Progress

Is it possible to proclude the progress line from including summary lines? i.e showing an average of the progress of activities within this as this information isn't as important.

I am more experienced in using Asta Powerproject, is it normal for the progress lines to look 'drawn' as opposed to angled lines rather than straight lines. Example shown below. This includes the summary progress that I want to exclude.

Thank you in advance
