assigning resource to milestone activity

Dear Planners,

I am user of Primavera, but the company I am working with is using MS Project 2010, the concepts are mainly the same with different views, but I well know that in Primavera you can not assign resourse or cost to the activity, however in MS project I think you can?

Best,

Moutaz

Calendar

Dear Planners,

I created a new calendar different from the standard calendar and I would like this calendar to be assigned to my project, in order to do that, in the project information window I changed the calendar from standard to the calendar I already created.

But, when I added a task calendar column in the gantt chart view, I got "None" under the task calendar, so I have to change it manually.

Best,

Moutaz

Filter or highlight tasks that are ongoing during task calendar exceptions (every other Friday off)

P
Pat O 👤 Member for 12 years 1 month

Hi.  I have an MSP task calendar that reflects that those working to that calendar have every other Friday off.

I would like to create a filter that will highlight which tasks are affected by these Fridays.  This seems to be defined as "what tasks have a start date before the off-Fridays and end after the off-Fridays".  This calendar causes work on the task to stop on end of day Thursday and resume on Monday.

Manpower Histogram in MS Project

S
Sam Ka 👤 Member for 12 years 1 month

Hello,

I am a beginner user of MS project, so my query may seem a bit silly.

I would like to make a histogram to illustrate the manpower allocated to the project on a daily basis.  The video below shows a similar histogram.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MeLVrODRJw

I have tried to use “Resource Usage” to produce this histogram, but it was not good enough.

Can anyone please let me know of a better way to produce this histogram?

Create an Indicator column in MS Project which measures the % complete vs % planned of each activity

Hi,

I have developed a project plan (which includes a % complete and a % planned column) and I wish to insert 3 types of indicators to show me how I am advancing with the progress of each activity:

Green: Shows the activity is on target

Yellow: Shows that the activity is between 1%-10% behind schedule

Red: Shows that the activity is greater than 10% behind schedule

MSP2007 - Summary EV Calculation

First of all, apologies if this has been covered in a previous post - I have gone back 3 years on this board and not been able to find the answer!!

Using MSP2007, I have been asked to produce a fairly basic EV report, and thought that MSP would be the ideal tool to do this. There are a number of tasks that roll up under three separate summary bars (Design, Procurement, Construction).
