Delay Analysis

Dera all,

I am not an expert in delay analysis .I just have a basic  doubt reagarding my project .it have 4 phases & Critical Phase is phase 4.Now

Phase 4 is delayed from client side & is still delaying from client side .Other 3 phases having float .Now  What my understanding is  the project delay is mainly due to phase 4 delay .EOT  will be equal to phase 4 delay .can we consume all the float available in other 3 phases .Is there any chance that any delay in other phases  from our side will reduce our chances for EOT claim which is

Possibility to rise claims due to long lead items that affect the progress of the project

M
Mamoon Ali 👤 Member for 13 years 5 months

Is it ok to rise claims for long lead items or equipments that their long time procurement caused a delay in the project ?

Is the Client fault to specifiy such items that aren't available in the local market ? or the contractor's fault for not ordering these items on earlier stage of the project ? and what are the cases for both parties for which the blame would be on them.

Thanks.

The possibility to rise a claim based on an approved schedule even though its a future event

M
Mamoon Ali 👤 Member for 13 years 5 months

Greetings to all,

Is it possible to rise a claim against the clinet or his representative for actions, events or any thing related based on an approved submitted schedule ( Under the assumption that the representative missed to notice them), knowing that these events will give the contractor the right to claim for when their time comes.

Steps from A to Z to Identify, Analyze, Apply and Submit a Claim in your Project

M
Mamoon Ali 👤 Member for 13 years 5 months

Hi all,

I'd like to know the steps that one should take in a construction project he is working on to win over claim, starting from identifying the possible claims he can win over, analyze them, apply them to your schedule and how to report them to the Engineer/ PM,CM/ Clinet in order to win over these claims.

I need to know the process of the work and the steps to take. and any sort of references that I can rely on while working on such matter.

Help would be much appreciated.

Reviewing Incoming Claims

M
Mike Testro 👤 Member for 20 years 5 months

Hi All

When reviewing an incoming claim at a table surrounded with potential clients I have often said something like:

(Spock Voice) "Its a claim Jim - but not as we know it"

"It reminds me of an Andersen Consulting document - Hans Christian that is"

"A few more characters and a bit more plot and we could submit it for the Booker Prize for Constructive Fiction"

"The numbers dance prettily - but not to any tune that I recognise"

"It would be more useful if they printed it on softer paper"

The mystery is that I still have some

Apportionment of Delay

J
John Power 👤 Member for 16 years 2 months

Hi

To assign delay responsibility between the owner and contractor in windows analysis how is mitigation best dealt with?

No investigation has been carried out as yet so this is just an rough exercise.

To assign the number of days delay caused in the month to the party with driving activities produces a higher number of days delay than the final window shows as throughout the windows there has been some mitigation.

Is it best to just assign an arbitrary number to each month, ie tally all the windows at the end and see who is responsib

Delay Analysis

S
Sunil Babu 👤 Member for 15 years 6 months

Dear All,

Currently I am working in a DG Sewerage project, our task is to calculate the delay for each shaft.

My question is that how to link the delayed days with the total float of the BL . Also other than window

analysis is there any other methods of delay analysis which best suited for this project.?

Your comments will be highly appreciated.

Regards,

Sunil.
