Activity time issues creating constraint issues

K
Kathy Wolff 👤 Member for 12 years 7 months

I inherited a project schedule for a MILCON project in Southern California.  The project was subject to a long delay before actual construction began, so there are issues of time and money to tidy up.  In reviewing the older schedules that are part of the forensic review I discovered an activity time oddity I am not familiar with.  I hope someone might be familiar with this issue and able to direct my attention to some method to correct the problem.

Variation in Re-measurable contract

K
Kannan CP 👤 Member for 17 years 11 months

Hi All,

Please see the below scenarion;

In a re-measurable Contract, as per the scope document(signed by contractor) pump installation to be done, but it is missing in the BOQ. The Contractor didn;t include this item in the programme.

Later, during the Construction stage the Client raised this point and the Contractor requested for extension of time to install the pump, as it is not mentioned in the BOQ.

Provisional Sum and Delay in Project

L
Lo Gary 👤 Member for 16 years 4 months

In the tender, if the client allows certain money amount as provisional sum such as $10,000,000. for soft landscaping. In this case, how should the main contractor make allowance of time in his programme for the soft landscaping work.

I usually put a task in the programme e.g. Client to give instruction for provisional sum for soft landscaping works (at the very begining of the project, in order to request client to issue details for the works) and make says allows 2 months for the works according to past experience. Do yo think this is correct ?
