Show Completed Task as Critical

Hello,

I'm looking to analyse the critical path of a part-completed programme for a project, however, tasks that are 100% complete or have been progressed do not show up as critical.

Is there any way of showing progressed items as critical without having to remove the existing progress from each task?

Regards

Asta users needed to validate decision support system based on project specific restrictions

Hi

I’m a student in the process of finishing MSc. In Applied BIM Management to be completed by 14.11.18.

I’m writing to you in connection with my MSc. thesis which, includes the hypothesis: Is 4D Building Information Management (BIM) improving construction management?

I have entered this study from a three tier approach. The objectives include:

1. Analyse the PAS1192-2 standards in relation to the temporal aspects of a construction project

Formula in Asta - Slip

Column to show "0"

-If the task is in the past AND 100% complete

-If the task is in the future and 0% complete

Columns to show result from the following formula;

(DateDiff(Start, Today)-[~LP].ActualDuration)

IF

It is in progress and being progressed.

If the task is in the past with 0% progress it should be showing a value. The difference between today and the start of the task (latest progress)

How to show gained revenue

A
Anel Murguz 👤 Member for 7 years 11 months

Hi,

I work as a plannner in a big construction company.

I want to show my boss how we can save/gaive money by planning.

I have mentioned for example that we can see in a early stage that all extra work is delaying us. And with our baseline we can visualize this and show it to the customer. Also I have showed him how, with the help of code, resources and filter, how we can display the forecast machine hours and also show the actual work.

Display link slope or the difference of two dates

Hi,

I'm fairly new to planning softwares but I get the basics of powerproject. My problem is that I can't display a column which shows link slope. Is it even posisible? There is a link loop but I ignored the link between these two tasks and now it doesn't affect my schedule. The problem is I can't easily see how many days do I have to shorten the lag or duration of one task to make the schedule work.

How can you filter items that are not assigned to Hammocks

Hi all,

Can anyone help, I have assigned activitities to Hammock bars  based on work package list I have created and assigned a cost to the Hammock bars to produce a cash flow. I am however unsure if I have allocated each activity to a Hammock bar. I am therefore looking for a quick way to filter the activities that are not assigned to Hammocks wiithout having to click on each bar and check if I get the Remove from Hammock option which would mean it has already been assigned. I have checked the filters but cant see a way of doing this.

Asta Natural Order Hierarchy & WBS

I have a schedule file for Asta that needs to be imported into P6.

The problem that I am having is that the schedule was created using the "Natural Order Hierarchy" instead of WBS.

Is there a function that copies the "Natural Order Hierarchy" into a WBS and keeps both of them assoicated with eachother?

Cost Centre Help

E
Euan Rennie 👤 Member for 8 years 3 months

Hi there, new user in need of a bit of help.  I have set up a few Cost Centres which I would like to allocate to tasks.  Asta seems to set these Cost Centres up with a value of £0.62 as standard.  This means when I enter 100 into the allocation part of the task it defaults to 100 x £0.62 = £62.

When I change the Cost in the Cost Centre Properties highlighted in yellow below to £1 it automatically reverts back to £0.62.  Does anyone know why it keeps reverting to £0.62 and how can I override it to let me change the cost value to £1?

How to assign resources to part of a tasks

Hi,

Does anyone know how to assign a resource for a period in the middle of a task?

I have a number of tasks that are say 10 weeks long, however I would like to assign different resources to the first 4 weeks the middle 2 weeks and the last 6 weeks but cant work out how this can be achieved. I assign the resources as non modelled as I do not want them effecting the duration of the task.

Any help would be appreciated.
