Project Engineer – King’s Cross and Mile End Underground Station Modernisations (October 2008 – October 2009):
These projects were in the value of £31m and £32m, under a construction management procurement method. These projects involved the upgrading and repair of the station fabric and equipment generally throughout while the stations were operational.
Involvement included the following: review of previous design in terms of errors, health and safety, buildability, etc; managing technical queries for architectural and structural aspects; manage technical submissions and contractor comments for architectural and structural aspects; provide support for contractors early warnings, contractor communications, RFIs, RFQs, PMIs, assurance documentation, etc; manage the contractors design co-ordination; interaction with engineering team, contractors, design members, LU staff, etc; and conducting architectural and structural inspections and sign offs with LU asset maintenance, engineers, etc.
