Thanks.

Alexandre, Thanks again.

What do you mean by "then select the appropriate table from View, Tables, and maybe fields by editing the Table (View, Tables, More tables)" because you only have these in filter. In group all I have are fileds name, field types and order.

This is right?

OK,

you rather should use Project, Group By, and group the project’s tasks by resources groups (BA, ...)

then select the appropriate table from View, Tables, and maybe fields by editing the Table (View, Tables, More tables)

then, insert a page break after each group

and print

Hi Alexandre

Okay, on the MSP that I am using, it is just one major project with many different clients and tasks for these client. The way the resources are grouped is a selection of 2 PMs, 3-7 BAs, 5-20 Technical staffs for each different task.

What I am looking to produce is a report with all the projects (tasks) with all BAs (the names of this BAs), a monthly view of their assignments, when these assignments finishes, which will be when they are available from and how many hours they are assigned on each Projects (tasks).

This is basically way I am trying to report but I guess I am not knowledgeable enough to use the filter on MSP to produce such view or report. Emmanuel

I was not using the analyse timescale in Excel.

I wanted to using filters to generate the project or in in Gantt chart (task name), the name of the resources, a monthly view of the assigments, avaliable from and hours avaliable views.

When I try to use the filters (resources filters), there are conflicts (the test value can not be used with the field for the data) resolution.

Hi Emmanuel,

you cannot use filters with analyse timescaled data; just select the taks BEFORE you launch the process, and click "Selected tasks"

should you prefer to Export the data (File, Save As), select the filter you need in the step Tasks mapping (step #6 if you follow the whole process) in the Export Assistant.

Hi Alexandre

Didn’t work out exporting the data to MSE from MSP. Can you please talk me through using filters, never used them before. Thanks

Yes, I think the later will probably suit best. I will give it a shot and update.

Thanks a mill.

You cannot filter the tasks when using analyze timescaled data; you can only select some tasks with the mouse and check the "Selected tasks" option.

You could export all the data from MSP to Excel and the use the database functionnalities in Excel.

Okay, I will try this, I was thinking to use the analyze timescaled data in excel for this but I am not to sure how it will come out.

I am new to MSP being using an in-house prog.

OK,

I would use the Group column to display the "role" of each resource; then use the dynamic filter "resource Groups..." to be able to select a specific role from all the roles; and export this filtered list to MS Excel.

Dynamic filters are the ones with a question mark

Okay,

I used "role" to mean a the grouping of the resources. one of the roles in Resources will be Project managers another role will be Business Analysts, other role will be IT Supports etc.

I am trying to generate a report of say the BA. I am trying to capture when all the named BAs are allocated to projects and when they are not.
