Senior Planning Engineer Responsible for:
Coordinating with project managers and assembling weekly updates and monthly project progress reports.
• Providing trending, scheduling and forecasting reports to the project teams throughout the life cycle of the project.
• Monitoring project costs to determine if allocated funds have been spent as planned and in compliance with client requirements.
• Working with field and finance staff to make project cost adjustments if necessary.
• Researching costs and budget variances and deducing reasons for discrepancies.
• Collaborating with disciplines, sub-contractors and vendors to forecast project spending and monitor resource allocations and implementation plans.
• Knowledge of project management principles and practices to ascertain critical issues and to effectively communicate recommendations for corrective actions for effective cost management
• Understanding of change management in the project environment.
• Assisting in the preparation of long-term project financial forecast of revenue and expenditures.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
