Since projects are contained within project groups, the projects are backed up as well. However, when you restore the backed up projects, only the project groups are listed; the projects within project groups are not listed, but are automatically restored with the corresponding project groups. To back up or restore individual projects directly, choose the Projects option or the Project Groups and Projects option. Projects: Choose this option to back up only the projects in the current folder. When you restore, the backed up projects are restored to their associated project groups. If the project group does not exist in the current folder, P3 creates a dummy project group so you can work with the project apart from the project group. Project Groups And Projects: Choose this option to back up all projects in the current folder. When you restore the backed up projects, both the project groups and projects are available to restore. This back up procedure may take longer than choosing the Project Groups option, but you have the option to restore project groups or individual projects. All Options Exclude Dummy Project Groups: A dummy project group refers to the project group data, such as project calendars and dictionaries, that is included only with a backup of a project. P3 includes this data so you can work with the project apart from the project group. When you restore a project to a location where the associated project group exists, P3 restores only the project to prevent you from overwriting data in the project group. A dummy project group is also created if you restore a project into a folder where the project group does not exist. Log in or register to post comments

Project Groups: Choose this option to quickly back up all projects in the current folder. Since projects are contained within
project groups, the projects are backed up as well. However, when you restore the backed up projects, only the project groups
are listed; the projects within project groups are not listed, but are automatically restored with the corresponding project groups.
To back up or restore individual projects directly, choose the Projects option or the Project Groups and Projects option.
Projects: Choose this option to back up only the projects in the current folder. When you restore, the backed up projects are
restored to their associated project groups. If the project group does not exist in the current folder, P3 creates a dummy project
group so you can work with the project apart from the project group.
Project Groups And Projects: Choose this option to back up all projects in the current folder. When you restore the backed
up projects, both the project groups and projects are available to restore. This back up procedure may take longer than choosing
the Project Groups option, but you have the option to restore project groups or individual projects.
All Options Exclude Dummy Project Groups: A dummy project group refers to the project group data, such as project
calendars and dictionaries, that is included only with a backup of a project. P3 includes this data so you can work with the
project apart from the project group. When you restore a project to a location where the associated project group exists, P3
restores only the project to prevent you from overwriting data in the project group. A dummy project group is also created if you
restore a project into a folder where the project group does not exist.
