Login problem P6 "You are not authorized to run the application. Please contact your administrator." on windows 10 pro

I can not login to succesfully installed P6 PPM on windows 10 Pro desktop computer.

If wrong credentials are entered on login page of P6, it says “Invalid user name or password. Please try again”. If correct credentials are entered, it says “You are not authorized to run the application. Please contact your administrator.”.

I installed the same files to windows 10 home computer, it is working without

Can anyone help me to understand and solve this problem.

you have to click up top on databases NOT login and type this

try this click on the drop down where it says database

select configure

select next

in the user name put in pubprm$pm

for the password put in admin

Sorry without knowing more about your setup its difficult to asses. But knowing its a sQLite DB try the following:

1) Start P6 accplication as an Administrator

2) Copy the SQLite file to another directory, say your desktop and try creating a new DB connection in P6 to this copied file. Your Win PRO may have restricted rights to access files etc and this might be causing the issue.

Unfortunatelly thats not the option. user name admin, password is also admin.

Database is Sqlite.

My analysis steps are:

1) The P6 software is working as login screen pops up without an error.

2) Databese and again p6 is working too as login attempts are rejected if wrong credentials (either user name or password) were used.

3) Response of databse for login attempt with correct credentials, says; either;

a) This user (admin) has no right to connec to to this database

b) This user (admin) has no permission to run an application module or something.

4) This situation happens because of either operating system (windows 10 pro) of my desktop pc, or security setups or privacy setups, or something about UAC.  Because it works on windos 10 HOME sysem on my notebook.

But my technical knowledge is not enough to find a solution or analize it more deeper.

Ok my guess is that you're trying to connect to a local SQLite Database called PMDB. When you were creating this database, you would've had to create a user, chances are the username was "admin" and you'll need to remember what you set as the password, it may even be blank if you didn't set one!

Santosh,

I am using P6 Professional 18.8  PPM

Yes I can not find user administration menu or part.  I suppose you are right but it is weird since it works on windows 10 home notebook but not works on windows 10 pro although all installation steps are exactly the same.

Which version of P6 are you using? more recent versions of P6 PPM installed as standalone SQLite database don't invlude any user administration. The error you're receviing looks like the user hsan't been given the right module rights in the P6 database.
