I have been using P6 a long time but only import actuals and changes using MS Excel occassionally. I have forgotten the "little things", - it is not importanting all of the data - what are the common mistakes? - Do I have to put a U somewhere or include some account code or something, possibly some things cannot be updated? I do not know what I am forgetting.

Also remember, if you generate an XLS Export from P6, the columns marked with an (*) cannot be imported in.
Basic Importing Note P6 using MS Excel
1) Any fields with * are calculated field and cannot be imported
2) There are 5 tables that can be updated using MS Excel such as:
a) Activity table (TASK)
b) Activity Relationships (TASKPRED)
c) Expenses (PROJCOST)
d) Resources (RSRC) - resource library
e) Resource Assignment (TASKRSRC)
Note:
Italic text indicates that the column is required for importing and exporting. The column cannot be removed from the export template and must exist in the import file to import successfully.
