you can use this if you want to with the understading that your costs willbe DRIVEB by the manhours multiplied by the cost that you set for this resource.
i.e cost for the resource is $25/hr you add 4 hours to your units as manhours cost is $100 unless its an engineering function where you have a standard rate this wlll not work.
if it is set to YES then it wil prevent you from IMPORTING cost from excel since it is set to YES it will ignore the excel import.
Thanks once again, Zoltan. Can you please tell what can be the effects of
on the resource calculate cost from units is checked (should not be)
not turning on the times in your program thus 1 day durations span 2 days
incorrect data date time
durations not in whole days
too many constraints
missing predecessors
missing successors
on the resource calculate cost from units is checked (should not be)
using incorrect calendars
resource assignment settings have activity can use the same resource more than once is check (should not be checked)
durations not set to fixed durations/units/time (if this is not set correctly and you add resources this could change your durations)
default units per time set to 0 (any thing diivided by 0 is o)
not correct start date and TIME
no must finish by date set in program
Put some thought into the data structures you want to use in the program, Activity ID's, Coding, WBS naming. You don't want to be making wholesale changes to these down the track.
