The selected delay analysis method does not depend on the type of construction but on many different factors.
The new SCL protocol gives clear guidance on the topic and is essential reading for your thesis.
In my opinion selection of the appropriate method(s) for any particular delay analysis is the key skill for an Expert Delay Analyst.
Matters to consider include (In no particular Order of Significance):
Is it work in progress or completed work.
Is it a main contract or sub contract.
The contract terms and conditions.
Is the programme a contract document or not.
Quality of as built records and historic information.
Quality of Baseline Programme
Use of Software - P6 is rubbish
Always avoid a window / time slice method.
