Can anyone out there explain why P6 doesnt alway calculate actuals?
When we update Units % complete for an activity, P6 calculates its Actual Units (as earned) for the first time but it stops updating Actual Units for any further Units % updates. Rather updating Units % complete further changes its At Complete Units.
1. Is there any way we can fix our At Complete Units?
2. Why P6 doesnt calculate cumulative Actual Units as per Units % complete of the activity, after first update?
Urgent responses shall be highly appreciated...

is your setting in the projects directory for the calculations tab set to subtract actual from at completion ?

If we CHECK "Recalculate Actual Units & Cost When Duration % Complete Changes" option, P6 creates another issue for me i.e.
We put Units % complete manually as per Work Manhours based progress, however when we schedule the plan and data date is moved to a new date and remaining duration is entered, system recalculates Actual Units (Work Manhours) based on Remaining Duration of activity and consequently it changes our Units %. This is the issue if we keep above option CHECKED.
Just try in your system by updating a labor units loaded activity using Units % complete. Put a % value for the first time and then change it to a higher value, you will see that from the second attempt, system will reduce the At Complete Labor units by keeping the Actual Units fixed to match the % value entered.
