Hello,
I am a beginner with Premavera. I work by exporting/importing Excel files.
I would like to assign my tasks a fixed/constrained duration. The purpose is to position these taks in my schedule only using this duration and one relationship (linking its start or end date respectively to the previous or following task).
Howerver, I have tried to put this duration in the "free_float_hr_cnt", "total_float_hr _cnt", "remain_drtn_hr_cnt" and/or "target_drtn_hr_cnt" fields, but everytime I reschedule (F9), the durations change...
For now, I have avoided the problem by creating two relationships for each task (for example one FS (lag = 0) and one FF (lag = task duration)), but this solution is not satifactory for me.
Does someone know how to do this ? As it seems quite simple, I assume that I simply did not find the right task field/property to configure.
Thanks in advance !
LOE would be for level of erffort
Thank you for your answer.
I finally found what was wrong. To fix the duration, the task type must be TT_task and not TT_LOE.
Thanks again !
you can not set free float, total float. These values get calculated during the forward and backward pass of the schedule calculations (F9). That's what the program algorithm does for your thast the whole point of the program. It is based on durations, logic, calendars and constraints.
just export the activity id, and original duration field export it to excel then populate it excel and import the file back into p6
if you want all of the tasks linked in a FS to order a just highlight the tasks that you want linked together sequentially then select edit and then select link activities.
for example if you had activities A, B & C it would like A to B and B to C sequentially with a FS relationship
