Premature Delivery of Material at Site

PJ : I do not agree with your statement

"There is no such thing as pre-mature material or drawings on site, the sooner they are on site the better"

Premautre delivery also exists in construction contracts

PJ: if you do not have the knowledge about the things do not try to write and become expert of every thing OK .

Before giving opinion see the other aspects . OK.

Not become over smart in this forum . Try to understand the things.

We need to view the premature material delivery from contractor’s point of view on project cashflow impact.

If the materials are delivered very early, contractor only can claim for materials on site. If the materials are idling for longer period contractor cannot claim for work progress until the physical work is started.

To maintain the materials quality, contractor need to arrange a store with proper maintenance. Again contractor need to fork out the cash to maintain the place and guard it with security personnel.

The feasible duration for premature delivery is suggested between 15 days to 30 days.

Any feedbacks are welcomed.

Regards.

Agree with Jaco, depends on the material

Ready Mixed Concrete - 2hrs could be premature if it may go out of spec if not poured within a certain time limit.

Pre cast concrete component - could be a week, could be 2 months depending on circumstances.

It depends on what the material is.

Assuming it has no shelf life and no warentee issues.I would suggest two months to Four before usage from a planning perspective. This give’s you more freedom to change the construction schedule if and when required. (And if the delivery is delayed this dont impact you that much)

I rather have material standing on site than having construction waiting for material.

If you have a space problem this then must be reduced.

Also keeping in mind what your internal target is
