Planning Manhours

Hi All ,

I dont see any reference to Planning Manhours / Productivity for different activities on the Planning Planet. Can anybody refer me to any Websites or links where i can refer to these for my Planning and Costing activities  for Oil & gas Projects like Plants , Refineries, Petrochemicals, Pipelines etc

Dear Mehdi,

It’s interesting to notice such a big variation on the utilization/percentage of manhours especially for the construction i.e. 76% (my project) vs 45% (your project).

Perhaps it’s good if we could exchange information on this respect.

Thanks

norzul

William,

The figure that I mentioned maybe applicable to our enviroments only. This may depend on kind of project, labor cost, type of contract, etc...

Thanks

Engineering manhours = 25%

Procurement = 20%

Construction = 45%

Commissioning = 10%

You notice that this weights based on size & type & scopw of work of project.

I’m currently involve in a project (EPCC Type Contract)

1) Total estimated plan manhours = 1.7 million manhours

2) Engineering manhours = 1.3% (based on actual the engr manhours has doubled or tripled...)

3) Procurement management manhours = 4.7%

4) Construction workforce/management manhours = 76.0%

5) Commissioning workforce/management manhours = 8.0%

Hatem,

Thanks for the interest, wondering if there is a relationship between the number of Engineering MHRs and the number of Procurement MHR’s documented anywhere based on an EPC project wherein Engineering and Procurement is done by the same organization.

thanks, Bill

Hi William,

I didn`t get what exactly you want, you ask about the relative weight between engineering MHR`s & procurement MHR`s? or about other thing?
