please create a new post do not piggyback on a diferent subject
option #1 as Raymund suggested is the global change will add the resource to all of the activities with the same code or wbs or any identifier
another option is at the activity level highlight the activitie that you want to add resource for and right click and select assign resources and select your resource.
yet another option is to assign a resource to one activity then export this information to excel and copy the resource information to the other actvities in the spreadsheet and import the activities back into P6 from excel. (make sure that calcuate costs from units is NOT checked)

Option 2...
Organize your Activity Layout to group the Activities with the same Resources together. Use add resources under the Activity Detail.

Use the Excel Import through the SDK...
