The resource calendars are a mess and Im wondering if this is an issue as when an actual start date is entered to status the actvitiy the resource cost value is erased immediately? any ideas?

Try to make changes of the "Duration Type"
The resources are not disappearing it's the budget when you click on the actual start of an activity.
The resource stays it's the budgeted value that changes to zero.
No it's not being reduced by 8. It automatically disappears or changes to zero when you click on start date. I'm thinking when they setup P6 initially they must of clicked on a box to reset the values to zero. They have assigned resources and wonder if again there is a calculation setting that is causing the disappearance.
