Progress Update Problem

I am using P6 and face a problem. When i update the progress, the activities whose %age is between 0%-100% (Like, 50% complete, 70% Complete etc), the bar against such activities in no more remains continuous but it split into 2 parts, 1st part for completed % age and 2nd part for remaining (or critical) % age and there is a gape between these two bars.. I do not know how to overcome this problem. Because the gap between bar seems like there is no work on this activity for some period of time but this is not the actual case.

Your activities are starting out of sequence (per schedule logic, not perhaps site logic). You need to analyze your schedule and figure out if the relationships should not be rethought. Sometimes you cannot avoid some out of sequence works, but it should not be a whole lot of activities. If so, then works at site are going according to a different plan and either their (site) plan or your plan needs to change.

Mustansar,

The activity you are updating is out of sequence. Most probably; you should have a FS predecessor to the activity that does not finished. So when you start the activity without finishing FS predecessor, primavera is continuing the remaining of the progressed activity after finishing of predecessor (which means keeping logic). This is called "Retained Logic".
