HI All
I am well versed in MS project software. Basically I hell from training background to core industry. Currently I m working for a Underground Mining project. My job profile is SAP-PS & MSP. Our project is basically managed by outsourced vender. My basic problem is that I never worked in any kind of project, so I request you to guide me, exactly what should I do in MS Project, so I can save my job. What kind of report a project needs ?
Thanking you in advance
Regards

Mona,
you can use the Microsoft Project software for basic planning of the different project tasks. You can schedule tasks, allocate them to resources, and if you have the cost of each resource, material etc., then you can track that also, and have a much better comparison of projectd timeline, costs versus actual costs, timelines.
This is an excellent tool, but must be used and updated regularly. Do not use it only in the planning stage. It wiill really bear fruit if you use it during executing of the project, and can save you a lot of time and money, and provide much better control over the project.
Hope this helps - Cheers - Davis.
I publish a number of books on MSP, you may wish to consider buying one of these.
Theyare available in paperback, spiral and eBook format.

Also it contains visual reports which utilises the of the tables within Excel or Visio, and these come in six categories:
