I have a problem that has been bugging me for a while. I have been cost loading my schedules with a single dummy resource, we don't do true resource loading, and all of my projected costs are front loading at the first of the month. In other words, and activity that spans 3 months is showing all cost in month 1 and 0 in months 2 & 3. I have not adjusted my resource curves and my resource historgram looks like a set of stairs as opposed to a nice s Curve.
Any insight is appreciated.

I would check the date assignments on your resources - it could be that they're not allocated over the entire activity.
I would also check the calendar that the resource is using as it could be different to the activity calendar.
