is there a way to always have the Task Information showing? kind of like how it works in P6 with an adjustable bar to show more of the chart above?
i've been looking and clicking and nothing seems to work. tried Google, nothing.

if you mean splitting the screen into two panes like in PM6:
Tools, Options, General (File, Options, General in MSP 2010)
then select "Task Entry" as the default view
if you mean (I don't think you do) the Task Information dialog, it is not possible
