Dear All,
I am new at P6, i am trying to updated the progress of activities but when i run the schedule, i am having problem with all the "in progress" activities.. there is lag after the data date for all of them because of which the "At completion" duration is not equal to the actual duration + remaining duration i cant understand the reason...please note that i updated the schedule using the physical %...............can any one help me in this regard, please, it will be much appreciated.
Hi, check that your scheduling is "progress override" not "retained logic"
The below is copied from P6's help file:
"To update activities with Duration percent complete type, click the Remaining field and type the remaining number of workperiods needed to complete the selected activity. When you schedule or apply actuals, the actual duration is calculated as the total working time from the actual start date to the current data date (for in-progress activities) or to the actual finish date (for completed activities), using the activity’s calendar.
-Or-
To update activities with Physical percent complete type, type the physical percent complete and the remaining duration for the activity. If resources are assigned, you must also update each resource’s actual regular units."
i have updated the schedule using the physical %age and as per my understanding you dont have to input the remaining duration as it is calculated by P6 with reference to the physical %age and actual duration......correct me if i am wrong, please.

It seems that the you have the Out of Sequence Activities.
Hi Khuram, be sure to update also the remaining duration of in progress activities.
