Re: Importing Issues for Microsoft Project.

Hi Guys,

Hope all is well? After abit of assistance if you can.

I'm currently a young Junior Planner having difficulty importing a Microsoft Project file into the P6 version 7 Programme.

I've got a MPP 2003 file format all ready and what I'd like to do is import. Difficulty I'm having is that MPP is not a valid importing format I think. The requested format is XML/MPX When I go to save the format in project to a XML and import it I get a error message after the process is completed.

Would any of you guys be able to give me some assitance as I'm not sure if I'm following the releavant steps?

Have you any blank lines, if so remove them before saving as a XML file, this in my experiance is a show stoper for importing into P6.

If you want to see the issues when importing a MSP file into P6 there is a Technical paper on my websites.
