I'm having a problem with an 'unknown' delay in Suretrak.
My preceeding activity 'activity A' has a 1 day duration ending on September 27th, the following activity 'activity B' is set to to start immediately after (finish-to-start relationships between activities, no lag, no delay, only 1 predecesor). However, for some reason 'activity B' is being pushed out nearly a week to October 10th.
Anyone have an idea why this is happening and how I can fix it?
whether activity B has any other constraints? or any other predecessors?
or this period betn sep-27th n Oct10th is non worknig period?
chcek those possibilities!
In a nutshell, the data date is basically the last date that a project is updated. Until a project is updated, the data date would equal the start date. All activity start and finish dates prior to the data date are actual dates, while all activities that occur after the data date are calculated by the software (or scheduler). If an activity is in progress during an update you have to consider more than the original duration. You have the actual duration, and then the remaining duration (the duration before, and the duration after the data date).
It is good you are asking about the data date because I have seen a lot of people try to use SureTrak and get goofed up, and in every case it was because they didn’t have a good understanding of the data date.
What is the schedule data date?
Hi Ryan
I would suggest that you check your calendars.
Particularly if you have resources on different calendars..
Or maybe you have a constraint on Activity B.

Ryan,
You have out-of-sequence progress with Activity A. Activity B’s start is being delayed in order to first complete unfinished work in activities logically proceeding Activity A. The ‘solution’ is to revise the logic or just be able to explain that Activity B is waiting on Activity C to complete first. Good luck!
