EPC Shedule Duration Estimations and Productivity Basis

Dear All,

I have recently joined an Oil and Gas EPC Company as Planning Engineer.Since this is my new exp in EPC Field I have few doubts and your help..

1) I wanted to know where i can find the Productivty data material for my understanding and including it my schedule duration estimates.

2) Is there are a standered refernaces to calculate the duration est for all the activities based on parametric est.....

 

Please guide me...

1-Your company should provide you with historical productivity data for it is previouse projects, if not avalible use the normal rates for any similar projects or based on the experince .

2-in order to calculate durations you need to knwo the quantities and the rates for theutilized resources .

Hi Kumar,

I think you asking how P6 estimate the total duration? It's should be done automatically in P6 after we add the logic duration for every single activitiy start and finish date then you can add one more column called "Original Dutation" to show how many work days it will take. Finally P6 will give you the total duration for all activities on the top raw of the schedule.
