I have a project stuck in "shared" mode. The "exclusive" mode option is not available though I am using a stand alone version of P6 v7.0 as an admin with full access. This is the only project with this issue. I have tried all forms of logging out, shutting down, re-booting etc.
Question - How do open this project in shared mode?
The way we were able to fix the problem was to export the project and re-import it back in. The options to open it in anything but Read Only were grayed out.

It’s a bit like Arend’s suggestion but I’d try opening it in read only then making a copy. It happened to me ages ago but I can’t remember how I got over the problem (or in to it for that matter!). It’s a bit of a lame suggestion but I hope it helps.

i suppose you mean that you want to open the project in exclusive mode. I can not help you except for a few suggestions;
Have you tried copy-paste the project to another eps node, checked the status; active /inactive/what-if
Is it maybe checked out?
Try an export to P3 and see what you can do there...
