Sir I was working in a small organization and as an individual planning engineer for last 2 years.Now I have got a job in a Europian firm as senior planning Engineer.Today was my first day and my manager has demanded to create a data base so that all assistant planning engineers can also work with me on same projects.Now this is totally a new concept for me.In stand alone option I have worked a lot but I have never worked in this system before.my confusions are as following;
1- What is the exact teminology used for this system where more than one planner work in same data base when there manager controls there access and their activities from his computer? is it project protopholio management?
2- Beside Primavera P6 version 8.2, what tools I shall need to establish such system.
3- I know how to configure the database.But how to create User names and passwords for other users and controll there access from my dektop?
I have only one day for this and therefore do not have to to attend courses for this.I have very good knowledge of workingg in Primavera and I am sure that I shall easily understand what ever you will explain here.

My knowledge of P6 is very limited so here I can be of no help.
Spider Project portfolio functionality is great and controlling access privileges can be done at the individual field level but I have no idea on how P6 control access by different users.
I do not believe it is a complicated thing, just a matter of knowing how your software do it. I am sure others will come to your help.

Sorry but you have called on the wrong person.
I have no knowledge of P6 but I would suggest that you consider excell as the best form of database management.
Maybe Rafael will be able to help - or even better Ronald Winter.
