Global Change

Dear Planners,

I have two WBS, let's say w1 & w2, the activity ID default is A and incremental by 10, it means A10, A20 and so on.

How to change activity ID for w2 to become B10, B20 and so on instead of A.

I do not find the option "Renumber Activity ID".

P.S. If there is an easy way to do it by global change.

If you do have to make a more complex Activity ID re-numbering, I would suggest:
1) create an UDF field (text type)
2) copy ActId in the created UDF (global change)
3) export the UDF in excel
4) manipulate the UDF in excel (usefull is need to concatenate meta data field / etc...)
5) import back the UDF
6) copy the UDF into the Act Id (global change)

Moutaz,

Select all activities under 'w2' > Rright click> select option 'Renumber Activity IDs'. You should be able to change activity IDs with 'Auto Number' option.
