Resource Dependent VS Task Dependent

Hello Guys,

 

Can any body please tell the difference between Resource Deependent & Task Dependent for an activity and how & where it affects the Schedule (i.e., at Original duration & at resource levelling)?

Basically i know the concept of that,but i want to know will there any change in the original duration by keeping the activity as resource dependent & if we want to level the resources what affect it will show in project completion?

 

Because in the above example you said like as per the task dependent the activity will work on mon-fri but resource will be off on wed.. so on which basis the activity will calculate the original duration?

Dear Alexandre,

 

In resource dependent, why Sat and Sun. are considered off days, this means the program will consider 3 days off (Wed. for the resource and two days for the task), is it logic?

Hello,

a task dependent activity will be scheduled accoring to its own calendar, a resource dependent activity according to the resource calendar

let's say you have a 5 day task starting Monday; the task calendar say the week is standard, 5 day workweek

you the assign a resource working 5 days, whose calendar says she's not working on Wednesdays

a) the task dependent activity will be scheduled Mon - Fri, and the resource will work on Wed

b) a resource dependent activity will start on Mon, be off on Wed, and finish the second Mon at night to let the resource accomplish her 5 day work
