Recognition in Australian Job Market

To my fellow planners in Australia,

I’d like to ask a couple of questions, if I got approved from IEA as a professional engineer / civil engineer, will I be able to work in OZ as an Engineer? or do I need another qualifications / study?

In order to work as a planner, do I need any further certificates, does adding a PMI-SP or RMP to your CV will be an asset or the market over there doesn’t care about these and you have another system of recognition?

Is a LEED-GA recognized in AUS or do you only approve NABERS?

Heard a lot of rumors that AUS has its own systems which are different from the rest of world, which worries me a bit?

Regards,

Karim

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the answer, thought I'm all alone :)

TO be honest, I heard a lot of rumors that AUS is self oriented in regard to Engineering, for example they've the NABRES & CBD instead of LEED that is being used in several places round the world.

I'm still away from OZ, so I'll focus on being certified from bodies such as PMI or AAEC since there seems to be no specific entity to provide certification for planning in OZ?, you know beside my experience in working as civil planner onsite.

Thanks a lot,

Karim
