LD risk for late start but completion on time

Hi,

I have one question.

I am working on a building project with many nominated sub contractor by main contractor

If I did not start my construction on time as per client master programme, but I can finish my job on time or earlier. Am I liable for LD ? Bear in mind that my delay or late start has a signiificant impact on other contractor who are my successor and their rate of progress cannot keep up with me. Thus my late start could hinder the completion of the entire project on time.

There's no key milestone in contract and no proper update of master programme from main contractor.

Hi CH L

It all depends on what it says in your Sub-Contract as to when your LDs may kick in.

I am puzzled by your statement that you will finish on time but your late start will delay other sub-contractors.

It seems that your work is part of a chain of staggered workfronts that woul be typical of a high rise building - some further detail would be helpful.

In this case it would seem that you may be liable for a disruption claim from the other sub-contractors but this can only be chanelled through the Main Contractor.

My current advice would be to keep quiet and keep good records.

Best regards
