It's confuse, my activity duration is 240days, I think 240 days roughly equal to 8 months,  when I change the duration format  unit of time to month, it became to 11 month, what's the problem? Dose anyone can help me ?

Thanks

Hi Huang Zhao,

The issue here is the calendar assigned to the activites. Since the default is 8 hrs/day and you changed your Durations Format --> Unit of Time, to month then you must also changed your Time Periods in the calendar under Hours/Month from 172 to 240.

Try this exercise and let me know.

Best regards,

Arnold

So according to the admin definitions:

240 days * 8hrs/day = 1,920 hrs

1,920 hrs / 172hrs/month - 11.16 months

If you don't like 11 months, change the admin settings. Those settings seem strange to me

e.g. 172hrs in a month and 56hrs in a week means 1 month = 3 weeks

2000hrs in a year and 56hrs in a week means 1 year = 36 weeks

Rocky, Senthuran and JRP.

I have checked my GOBAL & project calendar, there all 7-day workweek. All activities

In the Admin houes definition is as same as 7 day workweek calendar.

a) 8 hrs/day

b) 56 hrs/ week

c) 172 hrs/ month

d) 2000 hrs/ year

but the problem have not fix.

what's problem?

Hi Zhao Huang,

In your thought, 240-day duration equals 8 months including Saturday and Sunday. Remember that default calendar is usually 5 day workweek w/basic holidays, so when you change unit time to month, 240 days is about 10.2 months and shown on PM as 11 months.

Cheers.

Hi Zhao;

As Ray said please check your calendar definition, howmany hors/ day; how may days /month;

Then Admin category check the houes definition;

a) 8 hrs/day

b),,,/ week

c)..../ month

Now you will get the expected results.

As a example if you define the calendar 8 hours/ work day and if you assigne the 24 hours work activity , it will consider as a 3 days not 1 day.

Hi Huang Zhao,

Check your calendar in detail. i.e Workhours/day? Workday/week? or even Workweek/month?

What's your project calendar?

What's your GLOBAL (default) calendar?

What calendar have you assigned on that particular activity?

Regards,

JRP
