Is it possible to use two planning units in P3 (i.e. Day & Unit in same Plan)

Hi Friends,

I am new member to this place , yesterday one of my friend asked me that can we use two planning units in same plan , like some portion we have to plan in Hours & rest in Days ??? any body have experience of this , if yes please share.

Zahid,

We cannot use two units in one plan either in P3 or P6. please share with us if your collegue is more instrumental in this technique.

You set your units in user preferences, this only sets how units are displayed, you can only display one type of units at once BUT you can still set it to display as days but enter hours or vice versa (just remember to put the h after the number of units for hours and d for days).

Thanks Indeed for reply.....but in P6 also it is not possible ?? as P6 gives more option if compare to P3 ...

Zahid,

no, its is 100% not possible to use 2 planning units in the same project plan; you have to define the unique planning unit for the project plan when you initialize the project (File, New), and you cannot work a different way
