EV Calulations

Just would like to find out can you set the earned value calculations to use resource units? ev=units vs time. if yes where do i change this, or can you only base the earned value as ev= cost vs time.

Hi Dewald,

You can also do the following to calculate EV at resource level :

1) Add two resource assignment level numeric user defined fields. For example "UNITS % COMPLETE Calc" and "Resource EV"

2) Add a Global change with the following 'Then" statements and run the change:

a) "UNITS % COMPLETE Calc" equals Units % Complete \ 100. Primavera populates Units % Complete as a whole number and we need the  number stored as a decimal.

b) "Resource EV" equals "UNITS % COMPLETE Calc" x Budgeted Cost or Budgeted Units.

Hi Dewald.

What I normally do in situations like these, is to set my resource rates to 1$ and to remove all expenses.

The progress percentages you see then are purely based on units.  There is also a earned units column if that helps.
