Dear All
i am facing a strange issue for one of my projects.
presently i m working for a project which has started on 1st jan 2011.
now i have assigned the baseline and started updating.
now since there was some changes to be made with the baseline schedule i had restored the baseline project made the necessery changes and again assigned it back to the present project.everyhting is fine till now.
but when i open the same project in one of my colleagues computer the base line date is showing same as the present project date.first i spent a lot of time to find out why was this happening because in my computer it was showing correctly but other computers its not.
then what i saw was in the assign baseline section the baseline schedule attached is "CURRENT PROJECT".this is quite strange because i had already selected the baseline in my computer.
i saw that this happens when evre you re baseline any schedule.
so what may be the reson for this.is there any option where in we can keep the baseline schedule same where ever we login.
thanks in advance
Yes kumar, that would be the right way to go. If any user wants to check the dates from a different baseline then they can assign that baseline as Primary and use it for comparison.

Dear Amit,
Thank you very much for your valuable inputs...
yes i was knowing about this settings.
i had assigned same project as the project and primary baseline.so in my user computer the BL1 start and BL1 Finish was showing the dates of the baeline that i had asigned.
but in other user computer the BL1 START AND FINISH is showing the dates of the current project(i think this is by default).here i had the problem.
but if i check the "Project BL START AND FINISH" THE dates are matching with my primary baseline dates.
so what i told every one is to use the "Project baseline dates" for checking and comparing the aasigned baseline dates.
Hi,
The following Baseline's are user specific :
1)Primary Baseline
2)Secondary Baseline
3)Tertiary Baseline
These baselines are also called as "User Baselines" as displayed in the title in Primavera.
You need to assign the Baseline as "Project Baseline" for it to be same for all users,, since this option is global.
This is done in case an individual user want to calculate Earned Value from a different Baseline. These settings can be changed from here :
Hope this helps.

Dear amit,
i am assigning as primary baseline.
Hi,
Can you please confirm if you are assigning the baseline as "Project Baseline" or "Primary Baseline".

@ Zoltan
sir i have maintained the baseline then assigned it.
rashid
i think you are absolutly correct.
the baseline assigned is user specific.
so every time i log in in different computer i have assign the baseline again.
if there is some settings with which we can make the baseline assigned common for all the user then please share your ideas
thanks in advance
you must 1st maintain the baseline then assign the baseline again.
you restored the baseline not it needs it to be maintained then assigned again.
Your colleague will need the baseline schedule and need to do the same.
if you are showing the baseline bar P6 will use the current schedule by default is no baseline has been assigned.
